about

First joining forces over 5 years ago, rappers Chuuwee & Trizz follow the release of their slick sonic cut "3.5" with the launch of their fourth studio album "3.5 (Eighth)", a 12 track project paying tribute to rap royalty including the likes of Nas and Jay Z.

Having already established successful solo careers, their collaborative project is an impressive indication of the pair's unique talent. Lead single "Don’t Fuck Witchu" is imbued with Trizz's West Coast rhythms and Chuuwee's effortlessly smooth flow, eerie synth patterns floating over the rich soundscape.

Teaming up with Californian based rapper Demrick on "Xtra Lap" (Snoop Dogg, Too $hort, B-Real and Cypress Hill), the track showcases the duo's distinct, eclectic rhythms - citing the socially conscious rap stylings of East Coast duo Gang Starr as a major influence in their work.

After wrapping up the AMB album series, "we knew we couldn’t just stop what we had going" they explain. "So Chuuwee thought it'd be dope if we came with something new and that's when he brought the title "3.5 (Eighth)" which is how many grams are in an eighth of weed. It was perfect”.

Releasing their first album AmeriKKa's Most Blunted in 2014, the first installment from the trilogy, the duo combined their talents as solo artists to create a rich musical hybrid. Restricted by the terms of his previous
record label, Sacramento's Chuuwee initially planned to release the series as a solo project before teaming up with Los Angeles native Trizz - pooling resources and ideas together on a series which would span the course
of 4 years.

Generating support from Complex, okayplayer and EARMILK for their atmospheric stylings and working with the likes of Large Professor, Del The Funky Homosapien, G Perico, "3.5 (Eighth)" is further demonstration of the pair’s irrefutable talent.

Production is done by Stone's Neighbor, Colin Brackett, Zeon, Beatnick Dee and Shake Down.
